Since most of the die-casting molds are made of hot-working mold steel, the mold surface is not coated with other coatings except for spraying water-based or oil-based mold release agents, and the affinity between aluminum alloy and steel at high temperature is extremely strong. , It is easy to adhere to the surface of the mold core, so the content of Fe in most die-cast aluminum alloys is relatively high, in order to reduce the affinity between the aluminum alloy and the mold surface.

Although a steel mold is used for the casting alloy, the mold surface is sprayed with a layer of other insulation, wear-resistant, and easy to release coating, so the content of impurities such as Fe is relatively low, in order to improve the performance of the casting. As for the question of whether the die-casting parts can be heat-treated, the die-casting parts that are produced through semi-solid die-casting, extrusion die-casting and high vacuum die-casting can also be welded and heat-treated due to the extremely low gas content inside the castings.

However, because most of the air in the mold cavity of the conventional die-casting parts is drawn into the inside of the casting, high temperature solution treatment cannot be performed except for the aging treatment, otherwise the gas expansion in the casting will cause the casting to be scrapped.
